The Internet is strange, but amazing in many ways. It has taught me so much, big or small, and given me a new perspective on things. The Internet has also changed my opinion plenty of times. Here are just some of the things I've learned from the Internet.
- Self-confidence and narcissism are not completely the same.
- It is possible for any human of any size to be beautiful.
- Depression isn't something to be romanticized.
- If you want to stop being oppressed by someone, you shouldn't oppress them back.
- Not every book or movie needs a romantic plot.
- Respect people's privacy.
- There's such thing as pansexuality and asexuality.
- Supporting someone to be himself doesn't mean shaming that person for following popular trends.
- Your parents may not always know what's right for you, but chances are they know a good deal of things to help you.
- "You only live once" isn't an excuse to risk your life or others'.
- Someone that is out of the ordinary isn't any less human than everyone else.
- Kids shouldn't be restricted from learning about other people's beliefs.
- You can correct people on things they weren't aware of without being mean.
- Just because people joke about doing things immoral doesn't make it okay to do those things.
- Not all thoughts need to be made public.
There we go, I just emptied my vault for possible blog post ideas. Hope I taught someone a few things today!
